Can a single number or collection of number be statistics?
Can a
single number or collection of number be statistics:-
Statistics should deal with aggregate of individuals rather than with
individuals alone. This means that statistics does not deal with a single
figure, since a single figure is incapable to provide any additional information
other than itself.
So, a single
number is not a statistical data but a collection of number maybe a statistical
data.
For
example, “Robi” a student of Dhaka university is 20 years old is not a
statistical statement while the set of ages of all students in the university
of Dhaka is a statistical statement.
